Empowering New Paradigms in Generative AI and Accelerated Computing with NVIDIA Blackwell Platform

In the rapidly evolving AI landscape, companies and organizations are moving to integrate AI into their processes and products to prepare for the future. Especially as the quest for ever-larger language models becomes a focal point for researchers and organizations, data centers are looking to massively increase the speed and performance of their operations to satisfy the enormous processing power required to train LLMs and other generative artificial intelligence ( AI) applications, which can take tens of thousands of GPUs.

Breakthrough Performance for the Next Phase of Generative AI

The NVIDIA Blackwell platform introduces groundbreaking advancements for generative AI and accelerated computing. Incorporation of the second-generation Transformer Engine, alongside the faster NVIDIA NVLink interconnect, offers orders of magnitude better performance compared with the previous generation.

The platform’s flagship NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip powers a new era of computing, delivering 30 times faster real-time large language model (LLM) inference at 25 times lower total cost of ownership and energy consumption compared with the previous generation of GPUs. It combines two NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and a NVIDIA Grace CPU and scales up to the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72, a 72-GPU NVIDIA NVLink-connected GPU that acts as a single massive GPU. For the highest AI performance, GB200 supports the latest NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand and Spectrum-X800 Ethernet platforms to achieve networking speeds up to 800 gigabits per second.

The NVIDIA B200 and B100 Tensor Core GPUs integrate Blackwell’s second-generation Transformer Engine, a faster NVIDIA NVLink interconnect, and enhanced security capabilities to support the most demanding AI, data analytics, and high performance computing workloads. The B200 enables up to 15 times more real-time inference to accelerate trillion-parameter language models at one-tenth of the cost and energy. The B200 supports NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand and the NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet platform to offer advanced networking options at speeds up to 400 gigabits per second. Meanwhile, the B100 provides real-time inference to support large language models and achieves networking speeds up to 400 gigabits per second.
